Four Simple Reasons for Procrastination.

  1. Difficult - we perceive the task to be difficult, and we tend to avoid difficult tasks. Thus, we become discouraged to continue or even start the task.
  2. Time-consuming - the task will take large blocks of time, and large blocks of time are unavailable until the weekend. We do not start doing it when we have a little amount of time available thinking that we should give full time for it.
  3. Lack of knowledge or skills - no one wants to make mistakes, so wait until you learn how before you start. Sometimes, we also decide not to do the task at all just because we don't know how.
  4. Fears - we fear that everyone may know that you screwed up.

The simple cure? Do everything opposite. Think that it's not so hard, you can do it; the task won't take long especially if you will start it gradually, you won't notice the time passing and the work almost done; it's your chance to learn new skill while doing it; put in mind always that everyone has its ups and downs. Failure is normal and all you have to do is try again. The losers are those who never tried...
